It’s with great sadness that the Church Council announces the Piccadilly Market at St James’s will not re open in the New Year. In common with the experience of many retailers and businesses in central London, low footfall and repeated closures have made it impossible to continue. The number of tourists to Westminster, on which the market depends for customers, is not expected to recover for some time.
This was a difficult decision as the church courtyard has been host to many different market stalls since the 1980s and some of our current traders have been here for 10 years or more.
We thank you for all your custom over the years and the council wishes all the traders well as they look for new outlets in the future.
